wierd paypal issue

I received confirmation that I had received a payment from a buyer into a paypal account that isnt linked to my ebay account as listed in my ebay preferences.I know longer have or know the password for that account nor do i have the credit card to hand to verify a lost password.My question is why is ebay sending this payment to an account that I have not specified?
