Seller has old postal address

The seller has old postal address when I purchased an although this has now been changed on PayPal but I believe the item may have already been shipped to the old PayPal address. Why was this shipped when actually the Credit Card address did not match the PayPal address? Shouldnt I have been sent an email to confirm this before the seller shipped this item?
