As a larger sizeI know that it is much harder to buy clothes on the High Street, harder but not impossible. Ebay seems a great resource for finding that hard to locate size but it is also difficult to know if things will fit and if they will suit.
I seem to spend a LOT of time buying clothes, selling clothes and still I look in my over-stuffed wardrobe and utter the same old words...I haven't got anything to wear!
We all have days when we feel good about ourselves and other days when we feel rubbish, this is a universal truth whether we are size 8 or 18, ask your friends! So, what is the difference between a good day and a bad one? Is it our hair, clothes, attitude, weight?
Trinny and Suzannah never ask their subjects to lose weight, they dress them to look good NOW, as they are. Why should we all be clones of one another? Let's accept our good and bad points and dress well now, today!
So, with this in mind I have put aside a day, today, and reclaimed my style. You know those good days, well let's try and increase their number by using a bit of a system in our wardrobes.
1. Throw out, sell, donate, anything that is stained, doesn't fit, doesn't suit or we don't have any reason to ever wear it.
2. Try on everything that's left and put them in outfits. One of the main reasons we don't have anything to wear is because we think of each item individually. Work out your outfits and write them down. Have one sheet for spring/summer and another for autumn/winter and write next to each outfit when you would wear it - "taking dog fora walk", "saturday in town" etc....Then stick your lists inside your wardobe door. Next time you need inspiration it will be there! And hang your clothes together in outfits ready to wear because it's always a rush in the morning.
3. Write lists of things you need to buy as you try on your clothes, then when you go in to town you will have a shopping list;
Green flip flops
Green beads
White fitted t-shirt
This should mean your future purchases will be useful additions to your stream-lined wardrobe.
4. Great places to look for size 18 clothes are;
Monsoon - good quality, luxury clothes up to size 22
John Rocha at Debenhams - designer clothes up to size 22
Evans - wide fit shoes and boots for larger claves
Duo of Bath - top quality boots for larger calves
