A
customer mentioned the other day that she didn't know what the term AF
or A/F means with regards to ceramics and glass, but is seeing it in
titles and listings more often these days.AF can mean either AS
FOUND or ALL FAULTS, and is a frequently used term by auctioneers to
indicate that there is undisclosed damage and that the customer should
take care, as the item is to be bought with all faults whether
mentioned or not.In eBay terms, AF therefore means that the
item is damaged, and what you see is what you get. This could be
anything from a fine hairline crack, to an item that has been
completely smashed into smithereens!Any item showing AF in the
description should have a full description of the damage you can
expect, and you should ask for further details and/or pictures if you
are not sure how badly damaged the item is.
