Hauck Baby Walker Safety Issue!

I recently bought 2 Hauck Winnie The Poohbaby walkers for my twin girls in July 2006 from an ebay shop. 2 days ago, one of them collapsed whilst my daughter was still in it, causing her to bang her head and trap her fingers. The plastic struts at the bottom of the walker completely gave way and snapped causing the walker to tip upside down. Fortunately, my daughter did not suffer any serious injuries apart from minor ones, however, the safety of this product is an issue for me since the consequences could have been far more serious.

Upon contacting the seller, I was told that this had happened 3 or 4 times before and upon testing the equipment, it had always been found to be the customers fault and not the product. This started alarm bells ringing for me, that this had happened 3 OR 4 TIMES BEFORE!!! The seller was not willing to take responsibility for the fact that this product had endangered my daughters safety and therefore, I contacted trading standards who viewed this situation somewhat more seriously than the seller and are currently investigating the matter.

I felt I had to write thisguide in case there are any of you out there who have bought this product for your baby. I have great concerns about how safe these walkers are and have since bought 2 new ones from a reputable store and they area reputable brand. I did not feel safe in using the other Hauckwalker that was still in onepiece in case the same thing happened again. I feel it necessary to warn otherswho mayhave bought this product and my advice would be to bin it and go out and buy one that you know is safe.
