I have recently bought aFAKE scotty cameron putter for 115.00,after realising it was a copy i had to try to get my money back, the only way of doing this was to open a dispute with the seller,i did this and after spending hours of writing emails and waiting for over a month i did eventuallyget my money back. Now here is how to avoid the same thing happening to you.
1,Ask the seller for the serial number which is on the shaft just below the grip,if he doesn't reply it's a fake.
2,The face of the putter on genuine scotty,s has a shiny stainless steel insert clearly a different colour to the rest of the face of the putter,on the copy the face is all the same colour.
3,The fake putter has two white dots on the grip, one about 1/2 inch from the top the otherone inch from the bottom.
4,On the hosel the word scotty is written in red, on the copies it is more of a cherry colour, only a slight difference but noticable after you have seen a few.the copies rarely come with the pitch mark repairer.
I have just had a look at the putters on sale onebay now 30/1/08 at 9.35 pm and out of 11 putters on sale four were definately copies. Also beware of anyone who doesn't put an actual picture of the putter for sale, instead they use an official picture and don't believe just because a seller has excellent feedback the putter is genuine.I hope this guide helps someone avoid the mistake i made, thanks for reading and good luck!!!
